About the Institute

HCE was started in the year 1985, and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is one of the most sought after engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, reputed for its highly qualified and experienced faculty, excellent infrastructure and academic excellence which is being maintained right from the inception of the college. HCE attracts students from all parts of India and abroad. Over 200 international students from Bhutan, Rwanda, Oman, Sudan, Fiji, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, UAE, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Korea, etc. are enrolled in various courses.

Infrastructure Facilities

College of located on the IT highway of Tamil Nadu on a lush and serene campus stretching over 120 acres. The atmosphere is conducive for a calm and peaceful academic pursuit. It offers the flexibility of a private college and the resources equivalent to a leading academic research institute. The college has set up industry-institute Partnership Cell to conduct collaborative research with industries as well as to tie up with them for internships & placements for students.

College has advanced System Development, Computing, Programming and CAD laboratories. Round the clock internet facilities, well stocked library, audio-visual room, language lab with latest equipment are provided to the students to develop their skills. Additionally training centres to provide extra coaching in areas like IBM certification courses, Multi Media, Advanced CAD etc. have been set up.

Other Facilities

A special course on English Language Proficiency (BTES) of 9 months duration is offered to International Students if desired by them. Campus has excellent boarding & lodging facilities with a choice of air-conditioned rooms. Spacious open air and covered auditorium, restaurant, student centre, indoor sports, outdoor and water sports, gymnasium, cooperative store, Banking, Transportation etc. are provided.

Students have wide range of activities to select from. Hobby clubs in aero modeling, music, photography, NSS activities, educational tours, project centre, professional associations etc. provide ample opportunities to exhibit their creativity.

Student Support Services

HCE has set up various support centres for guiding the students. Counselling Centre, International Student Cell, Career Advisory Services, Hostel Affairs Committee etc. are some of the key support services.
