Institute Description : Cummins College Of Engineering for Women is India’s first Engineering College, exclusively for girl
students. Our founder Maharshi Karve sowed the seeds of empowerment for women through
education, in 1896. The small sapling that he planted over a century ago has blossomed into a
beautiful tree. Today we have schools, colleges and hostels for girls and working women and around
48 institutions under our umbrella. Advances in technology have opened new avenues in career for
women.
1991 was the year when the institution realized the fact that the modern trend in the field of education
to the girl students can be achieved by starting professional courses exclusively for them. With the
generous donation from Cummins Diesel (India) Foundation, the first Engineering College of its kind
in India was started and it was named as “Cummins College of Engineering for Women”.
Cummins College of Engineering for Women is approved by All India Council of Technical
Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Pune University. Our college has been audited for its quality of
education by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) since 1998 and by National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC). |
